Ian Morin, native of Deltona Florida, has been performing and teaching since 2010. Ian is currently the 2nd Bassoonist of Toledo Symphony Orchestra. Previously, he was the Principal Bassoon for Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT on Broadway at Lincoln Center in 2023.
In 2012, Ian attended Stetson University to study for his Bachelor's in Music. His primary instructors at the time were Ashley Heintzen and Gabriel Bergeron-Langlois. In 2016, he then attended Cleveland Institute of Music to receive a Masters in Music with Barrick Stees, Assistant Principal in The Cleveland Orchestra.
Ian also frequently works with Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke's, American Ballet Theatre, The Florida Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, as well as many more in the Midwest area. Outside of orchestra and teaching, he regularly performs a variety of solo and chamber works, including premieres by rising composers.
During the summer of 2021, Ian performed for the Concerts from the Library of Congress season. Along with the musicians from the New York Philharmonic, the MET Orchestra, and guest violinist Tai Murray, they performed A Fiddler’s Tale and L’Histoire de soldat under the baton of Damien Sneed.
